The Crafting Box

This craft box has been a constant source of entertainment ! It is filled with coloured square paper, scissors, textas, pencils, water colour paint, crayons, pencils, middle bits of card offcuts from the framing shop, hole punch and streamers. Of course it doesnt look as neat as this because on a daily basis both my girls will open the lid and especially my 3 year old will create something, whether it be cutting bits of paper into 'tickets', or writing shopping lists, drawing cards and letters for friends, punching holes or wrapping and sticky taping presents up.
It was a good exercise for me of letting go because I am always trying to create structured craft exercises al la steiner using all natural and found materials, and I always have a clear goal of what is going to be made. With this box it is totally free of expectations and the girls can use it exactly how they like and this allows them to be freely creative and spontanious because it is always available to use.
